The home provides accommodation for up to 25 men or women who are over 60 and have been diagnosed as suffering from a dementia type illness. The home does not provide nursing care. As well as offering long term care, we also offer short stay and respite care. On occasions we also have vacancies for day care.
In order to ensure that Carlton House is the right home for any prospective resident they, and any family or friends, will be invited to visit the home before being admitted. A comprehensive assessment is made of the person’s needs, with the input of the service user themselves, relatives and other health or social care professionals, and an initial care plan is agreed. The home does not accept emergency admissions. The service user, and their family if appropriate, will be given a copy of the Resident’s Guide to Carlton House, which gives information about the philosophy of care in the home and the services and facilities offered.

Carlton House is located in a quiet residential area of Hove as is situated within walking distance to the seafront and local shopping areas. There is limited parking at the rear of the home and restricted street parking is available on the street and surrounding area.
Hove boasts many local attractions including Hove Museum, Hove library, King Alfred Leisure Centre, Hove Lawns and an extensive shopping area in George Street.
There is an excellent bus service nearby and Hove Railway Station is situated 10 minutes away offering easy access from London and the South Coast.

There are nineteen residents’ rooms in Carlton House over 4 floors, with 2 mezzanine floors. There are fifteen single rooms and five double. Three of the doubles and two of the singles are fully en-suite. Four single rooms have WC’s and hand wash basins. All of the remainder have hand wash-basins. No room is less than 9.79 square metres and the majority being at least 13 square metres and all comply with the current standards. Every room that a resident uses is connected to a staff call system which is cancelled at the point of call.
In addition to individual rooms, communal facilities are provided for sitting, relaxation and activities. There are two lounges, a large one at the front of the house and a smaller one at the rear looking out onto the patio and garden. A bright dining room is provided on the lower ground floor, although residents are able to take their meals in their rooms or the lounges if they prefer. A lift, which goes to all floors (except mezzanine floors), is available for residents with mobility problems. The home has a shower room, designed by an occupational therapist, and a bathroom with a bath-chair.

Carlton House offers a daily range of activities to suit the needs and preferences of its residents which includes reminiscence therapy, quizzes, bingo, movement to music, sing-a-long sessions. Entertainers provide musical afternoons and at Christmas and Easter we have shows and pantomimes. In the summer months we have excursions to local places of interest for cream teas and picnics. (Space permitting family members may join us). Some residents go out on a regular basis with members of staff for a walk along the seafront or for coffee in George Street.

Conifer Lodge is a home for up to 28 residents, tastefully decorated and comfortably furnished yet retaining much of the character you would expect from three large Edwardian houses.

Conifer Lodge is situated in a highly sought after residential area, yet only a few minutes' walk from a wide range of local amenities, including a well established shopping area offering most shops, a post office, coffee shops and tea rooms. There is also a library and an adult learning centre within walking distance.
The well kept sea fronts, and Hove Museum offering different exhibitions, are also only a short walk away.
Excellent bus and train services are nearby offering easy access to London, the South Coast and the surrounding countryside.
The home is recognized for its quiet and peaceful location yet only a few minutes from the main bypass and easily accessible by car.
--> Accommodation Resident's bedrooms are located over 3 floors accessible by stair lifts. There are 19 single rooms and 7 double rooms, all with en-suite facilities.
Residents are encouraged to bring small personal items with them to add that familiar touch to their surroundings. Small items of furniture are also acceptable, as long as the room space permits.
We have two lounges where residents can socialize, read a newspaper or watch television, and a library recreational room on the ground floor offers a quiet space outside of your personal room which looks out on to the landscaped garden, where you can entertain your guests in private or merely just sit and relax. A new addition this year is a computer where residents can access their emails, surf the net or catch up with distant friends and relatives.

Gracelands has been providing residential care for people with a dementia type illness since June 1994.
The home was dual registered until February 1st 2006, when the registration was changed to DE allowing Graceland's to become a home specialising in the care of the elderly suffering from dementia type illnesses. We are able to provide accommodation without nursing care for up to 31 service users over the age of 65.
As well as offering long term care, we may be able to offer short stay, day care and respite.

Bognor boasts wonderful clean air and beautiful views across to the Isle of Wight on a sunny day, theatres, parks and Butlins Holiday park.
Bognor Regis town centre is close by and offers in addition to a well established shopping area, an excellent bus and train service to nearby Barnham, Littlehampton and Fontwell Racecourse. --> Accommodation
There are 27 residents' rooms in Gracelands, 24 of these are singles and 3 are doubles. 1 has en-suite bathroom, 10 have en-suite toilets and all have hand washbasins. The home also has 3 further bathrooms, 1 shower room. There are also 6 further separate toilets. Every room that a resident uses is connected to a staff call system which is cancelled at the point of call.
No room is less than 8.75 square meters and the majorities are at least 11.47 metres squared. You may request to move to another room. The manager will consider such requests, although she will need to take account of your needs before agreeing to any move. The manager may require you to move to another room in order to meet your changing needs. Whilst this would normally be done in consultation with you ( and your representatives), we reserve the right to insist on this, if we believe it is necessary for your own safety or that of other service users or staff.

We understand that some people prefer a one-to-one activity and a chance to talk, rather than participate in group activities. We do our best to meet the resident's needs in this respect. There is a published programme of events and residents' views are sought on what they would like to be provided.
Activities include music and performance; film shows; sing-along; touch therapy; exercises; ball games; reminiscence therapy; questions and answers; around the world; gardening; various visitors from groups such as the Alzheimer's Society. Parkview Care Home is CSCI inspected and rated as Good. (We have yet to be star rated)
Parkview is a well established 10 bedded home in the Hove area providing care for adults over the age of 18 years with enduring mental health issues. It has only recently become part of the Macleod Pinsent Care Group in December 2007. The home provides both short and long term placements.
It is a requirement that a full assessment be made prior to a Service User being admitted to Parkview to ensure that the placement is both satisfactory for the needs of the Service User and that of the Care Providers.
Parkview has a strong emphasis on rehabilitation. Residents are encouraged to attend training courses both internally and externally i.e. college. All residents take part in self-catering and cookery classes to promote independence. Some of the younger residents go on to work experience and work placements.

Asher is a detached corner property situated on the main A270 into Brighton. It is a well established 17 bedded home providing 24 hour care for Service Users of working age with mental health issues. It has only recently become part of the Macleod Pinsent Care group in December 2007. The home provides both short and long term placements.

We have close links with local mental health services such as Community Psychiatric Nurses, Assertive Outreach Team, Aldrington Day Centre and Buckingham Road Centre. --> Amenities Asher is situated near to shops, cafes, and the picturesque Hove Park.
